American Legion Fourth Estate Award

The Fourth Estate Award is presented annually by The American Legion to a newspaper, magazine or broadcast outlet for outstanding achievement in the field of journalism. Online media outlets are also encouraged to enter in the broadcast or print categories. Winners are expected to attend the presentation of the award at the American Legion National Convention in August. A $2,000 travel stipend accompanies each award, to defray expenses of the recipients accepting the award at the American Legion National Convention in August. Individual award pylons are presented to the principal contributors, in addition to a large organizational award.
